Local-file first
The workflow begins with a video or audio file the user already has, not a platform URL or a pre-existing caption track.
SubChinese is focused on one underserved path: take a local Chinese video with no useful subtitle track, turn the speech into timed Chinese text, add pinyin and optional English, then export files learners can actually use.
That assumption changes the product. A platform subtitle helper is useful only when the platform already has the track. A general transcription tool can produce text, but it usually stops before pinyin layout, learning notes, subtitle timing, and player-ready export. SubChinese connects the whole chain for Chinese video understanding.

Chinese text, tone-marked pinyin, and English notes stay connected to the same timed segment instead of becoming separate documents.
SRT is the simple compatibility output. Positioned ASS is the advanced Pro output for aligned pinyin above Hanzi.
The product value is the chain after recognition: editable segments, pinyin, translation notes, export naming, and playback-ready files.
People learn better from videos they care about. We make those videos easier to understand without turning them into a generic course.
We will keep the product narrow: Chinese speech, timed text, pinyin, optional English, SRT for broad use, and ASS for advanced alignment.
